On 30th November 2024, Sacred Heart
Convent Higher Secondary School, Motikunj, Mathura, organized its much-awaited
Annual Sports Meet 2024. The event was conducted at the spacious police ground in
Mathura, providing an ideal setting for a day filled with sportsmanship and
enthusiasm.
The District Magistrate graced the
occasion as the Chief Guest, while the Sub-Divisional Magistrate served as the
Guest of Honour. A large temporary seating arrangement was set up to
accommodate parents and students, ensuring they could comfortably enjoy the event.
The day began with an opening
ceremony, which included a warm welcome for the Chief Guest and Guest of
Honour, followed by the flag hoisting and the lighting of the sports torch by
the Chief Guest. The Sports Day officially commenced with a spectacular march
past by the four Houses and the declaration of the day open by the Chief Guest.
In her inspiring speech, the Sister
Principal emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
Students of secondary classes enthusiastically participated in a range of
events. Competitions included relay races, 100-meter and 200-meter sprints,
hurdle races, volleyball, football, kabaddi, kho-kho, and tug-of-war.
The students of Primary Section also
joined in with fun-filled games such as the sack race, monkey race, balloon
race, dress-up race, vegetable race, hen race, spider race, octopus race, and
cycle race. The younger participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm, while the
senior students showcased their skills and determination.
The spirit of competition and
teamwork was evident throughout the day. Parents and teachers cheered loudly,
adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The Chief Guest, Manager of the school and
the Principal awarded the prizes to the winners, while points were awarded to
the Houses based on their representatives’ performances.
To ensure a delightful experience,
the school arranged refreshments for parents and students. As the event drew to
a close, the Principal declared the best player of the day, who received a
memento and trophy from the Chief Guest.
In her closing address, the
Principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their presence and
support. She also congratulated the teachers and students for their hard work
and exceptional performances, bringing the event to a memorable conclusion.
